Tell me why I should or shouldn't get a cat

DS wants a kitten. He's 6. DS2 is 3.

I know nothing about cats. I'm a dog person. DH hates dogs and says cats are easy but I suspect this is his way of doing nothing for it and leaving it to me.

So - should we get one?

My main reservation is dead things in the house.

My other questions

  • can you fit a cat flap into double glazed doors?

How much do they cost (food, insurance etc)?

Is it a given they will destroy the furniture?

Definitely don't get a dog if you are not going to pick up its' poo!

No obviously I would if I got one. Was just pointing out that when I had a dog as a child (in the 80s), that wasn't part of the deal.

You still have to pick up poo but you get a special scoop to go with the litter tray. Big advantage is you don't have to carry the poo round with you after the event. Wink

Round here they like to scoop the dog poo, put it in a bag and hang it on the trees like pooey baubles. Angry
