We've got a 4 month old Bengal who is very attached to me....

DH thinks I should put him in a chattery for our hols.... Do you think he'd be ok going with us and spending some tkme each day alone in the 'van?

i cant see why not just be careful of him getting out of the van when your not looking as it would be unfamiliar territory

Could work.....our bengal wasnt very in to going out at that age, he just ate and grew.

Sounds exactly like mine, fluffy.... He's grown quite a bit since I got him already but his favourite activity is sleeping Grin and if breakfast , lunch or dinner don't arrive on time, then he starts with kisses that turn into nibbling my nose Grin

Not sure about having a stinky litter tray in a caravan. Sad

I think it would upset the kitten TBH. I would opt for the cattery.

I also think a chattery would be kinder and in some respects less stressful.

I can't get over the fear that the kitten would go AWOL in an unfamiliar place. And the concern that you'll otherwise have to keep doors/windows shut in a caravan that might get pretty hot and stuffy WITH a litter tray (ewww).

I think if you find a good cattery it old be a good idea.

We always used to take our cats away with us to our caravan when I was a child, we went away for most of the summer so it was the only option.

We used to lead walk them round the caravan park.

I'd go for strange place with familiar people over strange place with strange people.

Well ....

So far so good....

My 4 month old kitten is now a caravanner.... 4 day weekend in the van with only one minor indiscretion.... And he has spent his days snoozing in the front window waiting for his humans to return from days out.....

His first rally next weekend Grin

Ours slept all day at that age too, he went up to the ledge in the conservatory for two months.
