dandruff & losing fur

can anyone recommend something for dandruff other than adding a few drops of cod liver oil to her food as whenever i brush her she seems to get dry flakes. vet suggested cod liver oil but i wondered if there was anything else. hard to get out of her long coat too as they appear when i brush her. she is losing fur at the minute i guess due to the change in temp'.

Our little girl had this when we first brought her home - it completely cleared up with a change of diet (biscuits instead of wet food and plenty of water). Has her diet changed at all rwcently? Is she perhaps catching and eating prey? Is her flea medication up to date? Could she havw become allergic to something? (Big boy cat's skin can be quite sensitive).

Could be allergic reaction like hayfever, my departed boy had it and required steroid injections to keep it in check.
