Infr-red cat flap - neighbours cat still getting in!

Is the only logical explanation that he has an infra- red collar? I can't see it on him - and does it really have to be the same colour as our cat's collar? Would buying a new cat flap be worth it?

I now have to have the cat flap set to out only.

Mmmm, is it possible that a cat without a collar could open it by pulling it towards them? We have a locking cat flat so I can lock the cats either in or out if I wanted to. The cats have worked out that if they're locked in they can hook the flap towards them rather than pushing it and then wriggle under.

Maybe.I just tried and I couldn't, but then I'm not a cat.

I'd highly recommend a sureflap if your cat is microchipped. It's only activated by your cat's chip. Fab!

Cat's aren't microchipped, and as they are nearly 15, I don't want to put them through any unnecessary vets visits.

It seems the cheeky cat has the same collar (I was offered a choice of 3 collars - I would have to pick the same as the neighbours! It got in and sprayed in my kitchen today. Angry

DH is going to to put the magnetic flap back on. It probably has a magnet on it's collar as well. Hmm It's that chubby and fearless I bet it's feasting at most houses with cat flaps in our postcode.

I've just had a sureflap microchip catflap fitted and after a couple of initial teething problems it is great. My cat was chipped at the age of ten and honestly it is the fastest, easiest thing - no anaesthetic needed and my cat was not bothered at all.
