Hi there,

I have noticed yesterday my cat in the garden, she was in position as if she was doing a poo or a wee...she stayed there a long time without doing a noise.

Today I have noticed she was doing the same at the same spot in the garden but this time I looked what she did as I was concerned...There was nothing there.

Tonight, she came home and went straight to the litter box but did nothing.

She doesn't seem in any pains, she eats and drink as normal but can't help being concerned.

Could it be the beginning of a uti ? She didn't pass blood at all but she does groom a bit more.

Thank you for your help !!!

Yes sounds like cystitis - note this is NOT an infection in younger cats. (UTI very rare). This cystitis is caused often by stress. A trip to the vets is needed. Just check she is trying to wee and not poo.

See the feline advisory bureau website (owner information, cat diseases) for more detail.

I would take her to a vet op if it looks like ages having trouble then better safe than sorry she might need antibiotics and maybe even a new food to stop it reoccurring :) the sooner you take her the easier to treat ( and therefore cheaper) it will be :)

Ages? She! iPhone strikes again Blush

She is nearly 3, she definitely has something so I'll take her to the vet tomorrow..the good thing is that there is no blood left after she goes but she must be in discoomfort !Thank you for your help !

It is good there's no blood but good idea to take her before it gets worse. Quiet often the vet will recommend a prescription diet that helps prevent the salt crystals that can form a blockage so it's easy to prevent it from reoccurring. Good luck at the vets hope she's ok :)

She has a cystitis ! So he gave her tablets and painkillers !! Pfffft I'm glad I went ! She is already feeling better, I can tell as she doesn't go to the litter too often !
