My 8year old Tom is severely anemic. I should find out on Monday what is the cause(suspect rat poisoning or worse.....)..he's hardly eating anything at the moment. I have tried his normal dry food, fresh tuna, salmon, chicken. Any ideas please?

Cheese? no iron but calorific and smelly, or bacon, those stick shaped chews you can get for cats.

If the vets were really worried about him wouldnt they have kept in for the weekend

Poor cat.

We were meant to go to back on Friday but blood results weren't back and as he was "ok in himself" ie lethargic but not in any apparent distress vet said just to go back Monday. You can imagine all the things I'm thinking Sad vet said whatever it is at the very least his blood has taken a bashing.

What about some fresh smelly fish? Mackeral is apparently the best for humans and stinks to high heaven. And, goats milk to drink. The rescuer who we got ours from told us this is closest to mothers milk and costs much less than special cat milk.
Poor cat.
