My cat has been sneezing and sort of wheezy breathing every now and again for the last 24 hours. Should I be concerned??

Hello, I meant to reply to this yesterday. How is your cat today?

It could be an infection of the respiratory tract. We had a cat with a very flat face who used to catch our colds (or a variation of) and sneezed, wheezed and was generally quite snotty. They didn't always need to be treated with antibiotics but the vet did prescribe Bisolvon in powder form which really helped her breathing.

If your cat isn't ordinarily prone to respiratory problems I would definitely keep an eye on him (her?). Is he off his food / pawing at his mouth? Could also be teeth or could be something as simple as allergies. Does he go out?

I'd phone the vets, Is he ok today?

It got worse yesterday so took him to vet. She gave him piriton as he didn't have temp or sore throat. If he continues to sneeze got to take him back for her to look for grass seed in soft palate. That means anaesthetic. So going to check on him now.

Back from second trip to vets. Had investigation but could not find anything. All passages red and inflamed. Had steroid jab and got two weeks of steroid tablets. Poor boy!!

Oh poor boy. Glad it's being treated though. Did the vet have any idea what could have caused it?

No it could be anything! Not v helpful. I used different litter last week so have changed back. Seems to be sneezing less though.
