Cat in season

She has come into season and is driving me insane. Had booked her to be spayed yesterday but they wont do it while in season. She is just making so much noise and its constant. Please tell me this wont last long

Sounds like the end of December for me, it lasted about a week, was worse at night but she did seem to respond to Shhhhh Shhh noises and days 3-4 were worse. When we went out of the house we could hear her through the window.

The most disturbing thing was that she would present her back end to any male (human or otherwise) put her tail to oneside and look around to the male as if to say 'go on then'.

Oh yes, but in this house there is no discrimination, anybody will do. Even my trainer has been propositioned. I have a male cat too (neutered) and i have caught him going through the motions. The vet is trying to say that we need to wait a month after her season before she gets the op but everything i read says that she will come into season every 2-3 weeks until she either mates or gets done.

my cat just got spayed and she was in season or it was just over. They didnt mention anything about it, and it went absolutely fine

Sounds like you should be getting a second opinion about whether she can be done while she's on.
Alternatively, just let the boy go through the motions and hope she calms down.
