Neighbour's cat attacking ours

We have a 9 year old cat who spends a lot of time dozing in the garden.
She is a rescue cat and quite shy.
A couple of years ago, neighbours 3 doors down arrived with their cat, which also seems to spend time in our garden as a cut through. It's very confident..doesn't run away if we go out of the door.
Lately it's been attacking our cat....last noght they had a horrific fight with our cat ending up with lots of fur ripped out of its head.
Is there anything we can do...I've tried throwing water at it but I'm not quick enough.

Poor little thing. Sorry no idea as I'm a novice cat owner. Can she get back inside when the bad cat comes?

apart from keeping the cat in or getting a cat flap if you haven't already then i can't think of what you can do.

our cat used to be the local bruiser but he's getting old so he's the one picked on now, we just keep him in at night and scare the other cat off if we hear the 'rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooow' noise of fighting cats.

my next door neighbour leaves their 'bengal' cat out in all weathers when they go to work 7 - 7pm. it so sad - in the cold weather he would hop into my car as i opened door to keep warm. i think it makes him an angry man as now he bullies my little 'bubbles' who has only just started going out. shes petrified of him. he actually got in our house recently and attacked bf's male cat under my bed. it was awlful.

I would buy a super soaker much faster to use than a bucket.
