depending on where you are in the country there will be several breeders near you. the "look" does very slightly between breeders so have a look at their websites and figure out what it is that you like.

some breeders specialise in certain colours etc.

i currently have 4 ranging from 5 months old to 12 yrs old. its all about how they have been raised tbh. generally, they are friendly, gregarious cats who love to interact with you and are very playful. they are not the brightest and pretty laid back about most things so they are easy to live with. as they are a "semi long hair" they require weekly grooming so are not as labour intensive as you might think.

if i were you i would have a look around and go to meet a few breeders, see the adult cats they have. if you have kids, ideally you want the kiiten to be well socalised with kids, ditto, dogs.

good breeders will have fab, confident, beautiful healthy cats. bad breeders will produce poorly socalised, nervous cats. the bigger breeders are not always the best to look at LOTS and find someone you feel has a similar approach to owning cats as you do.

there are health problems within the breed. HCM (heart disease) hip displasia and sma (spinal condition) and any breeder worth their salt should discuss these with you and explain what they have done to ensure that they are breeding only HEALTHY kittens.

but overall i totally love em! feel free to PM me if you want inside info on a particular breeder you have found and i shall do my best Smile if i dont know them, i probably know someone who does!

good luck
