He seems to want a 2nd tea (DH fed him at 4pm)

But we are also being terrorised by another cat. This other cat mews outside my patio door relentlessly each evening, and when I scare it off it trots down my garden and sprays.

Our cat flap broke and this cat got into our house. So I bought an infa red cat flap, but it's figured out that if it follows my cats, it has about 5 seconds in which to enter our house. DH found it on the stairs one night when I hadn't locked them in the kitchen.

There has been some night time spraying in the kitchen.

What can I do?????

Firstly, if you catch the other cat in your house soak it with water. If you see it near your house, soak it with water (you sensing a theme here.).

Spraying is a horrendous smell to get rid of. I was advised to try vanilla extract diluted a bit in water to clean with. Also use biological washing power dissolved in water to create a cleaning mixture.

HTH. The water thing works well if you can drench it a few times (literally a pint of water chucked over it - preferably before it is in your house!)

Btw have have three cats so am not a cat hater at all, the water thing worked for us when we had the same problem!

OK, I will get harsh with the other cat. I'm a big softie and it's been so cold out recently, I really feel sorry for this poor ugly cat. (Who locks a cat out when it's -1'C?) I will drench it tomorrow and tell the neighours I think it belongs to.

Tell me about the smell! Shock

LOL! You are being a softie! Get soaking.
If I were a real softie (ahem) I would install a cat flap in my shed so they would have somewhere to sleep. Luckily I'm hard as nails so would never do such a thing...

Ps sorry Tom is being such an arse about the separation.

I have been a bit of a tit though!

Dissolve bio washing powder in boiling water, cool for half hour and spray EVERYWHERE, it will get rid of the smell. Get a chair set up in position, hide your cat and put fish inside the catflap. Be armed with a super squirter for when the rogue cat appears.

Feliway plug in hormone stiff helps to stop your cat spraying if that is happening in response to the invader.

Clean the area with water and a scoop of that oxi-action stuff. Might need 2 or 3 goes.

We now barracade our catflap with a chair as it was forcing the lock on it.
