Do kittens' lose their baby teeth?

Last night DD and crazykitten were playing their usual tug of war game with her favourite soft toy. DD noticed one of crazykitten's little teeth embedded in the toy and a tiny bit of blood Sad

DD is so upset thinking she dragged the tooth out. I thought maybe they lost them like humans?

She seems fine and not in pain and is crunching away on her dried food.

Thank you Smile

We've had 4 cats and only ever seen 1 'baby' tooth. I think that they normally swallow them!

VenusStarr · 10/02/2012 19:43

yes they do. i hadnt realised that they did until i sat on my bed in just my underwear and got stabbed in the bum by something and it was a tooth! i had to check both of their mouths just to make sure and sure enough Tinker had a gap :-)

Northernlurker · 10/02/2012 19:44

This is very cute!

usualsuspect · 10/02/2012 19:46

aww , put in under her little pillow

Ours are going thru teething at the moment, they chew on everything.

chocolateyclur · 10/02/2012 20:07

It's rather creepy when their adult canines push through before the kitten ones have fallen out. Loadsa fangs.

crazynanna · 10/02/2012 21:08

Thank you all Smile

Omg do they?Shock I didn't know that!Blush and I have two cats which we've had since kittens. I've never noticed any spare fangs lying about the place.

crazynanna · 10/02/2012 21:17

It was so tiny Bendy Smile I have kept it like a proud mummy

YEs, the first I noticed was when a kitten with a lopsided mouth was miawing for their dinner. One normal length kitten fang and one teeny adult one poking through.

BendyBob · 10/02/2012 21:23

Aah so sweet!
