Cat vaccines not up to date. Need pet insurance...

Cats need pet insurance, theirs lapsed some time ago due to lack of funds, same as their jabs which are about 3 years out of date.

We are going to get them done now of course, but, is pet insurance invalid if they are not up to date? Ie, if I get insurance plan this evening will they be covered once the 14 day period is up if not yet had their jabs?

I think it comes into play if they get something which could have been prevented by eg vaccinations or routine dental maintenance. I'm pretty sure they want you to have a regular health check as well, (usually at the same time as the vacc). If they get hit by a car and need xray/operation it shouldn't have any bearing.

Varies between insurance companies some ask could it be avoided by vaccination, some ask date of pets last vaccination. So check the small print of individual policy.

Thanks, all sorted, as said, only an issue if any reason for potential claim is linked to illness caused by non vaccine, hopefully will all be up to fat in couple months. Cats both now insured!
