Water fountain for a cat???

My cat always plays with his water bowl, normally tips water onto the floor before drinking it. We have been recommended to get him a water fountain. I had never heard of them before. Has anyone got one? Are they worthwhile?

We bought ours on the advice of the vet when our two neutered male cats kept getting bladder infections. He said it would encourage them to drink more. They love it, touch wood we've had no problems with them since. You can buy them from Pets at Home, made by CatMate I think. Needs to be plugged into the mains, though we do switch it off overnight. It even keeps the water cool, so it stays fresher.

My CM has one for her cat. It looks very cool. Kudos for her keeping the little ones away from it all day though as DD loves it

I'm thinking of getting one for my fussy cat as she will only drink water from a dripping tap

there's another thread about this - have a look at some of the recommendations there. Smile
