My beautiful boy

At the grand old age of nearly 21 years old (could have been older we were never sure, but we had him in our lives for 20 years) was put to sleep last week, the house seems so quiet and empty. He was as beautifully natured as he was in looks and I miss him so much. Not sure why I'm posting but just needed to talk about him.

I'm sorry Sad

So sorry. We lost our 'best boy' 3 years ago last week & I still cry for him. We have a little headstone in the garden & we lay flowers there often. I find having a permanent memorial has helped both me & my children. Ebay is good for pet memorials when you feel up to looking.

It does get easier with time but you never forget them.

Thankyou for the messages, we are going to have a memorial for him in his favourite part of the garden. I'm waiting for a phone call from the vets to tell us that his ashes are ready for us to collect, a call that I'm dreading but at the same time looking forward to as it means we'll get our beautiful boy back home where he belongs.

So sorry Sad He sounded very loved indeed. Take your time...it is always a blow even when you know it's time.

Aw :( My beautiful boy (Burmese cross) died almost three years ago and there's still a tiny dark bit of me that resents our current cat for being so unlike him- goofy, loving, licky, a bit dim, and so beautiful! A memorial sounds lovely.

hennipenni · 24/01/2012 19:42

thank you, i don't know whether we'll ever have another cat, it wouldn't feel right somehow.

:( so sorry, at least he had a long and happy life with you and brought you so much joy as you would have done to him. So sad for you :(

MyMascaraHasRun · 24/01/2012 19:49

So sorry, it's always such a loss.

Breitling · 24/01/2012 19:53

Awwwww so sorry. What a lovely life though he must have had. Full to bursting with love. No cat would ask for more than that. RIP old boy.

BendyBob · 24/01/2012 20:03

I am sorry xx I lost my first ever 'own' cat just over a year ago (had her from 8 weeks) and she was 15..I miss her still now and the day of her death didn't go by un-noticed xxx

GetOrfMoiiLand · 25/01/2012 21:37

21 years! That is incredible.

I am so sorry. It is so hurtful when pets die. There is another MNer who had her ill cat put to sleep today, her stories about his antics made me cry.

You must feel so bereft without him.

hennipenni · 27/01/2012 12:31

Thank you for all your kind words. Missing him so dreadfully that it hurts but starting to remember the good times like when he came shooting in from the back garden with his tail as big as a brush, skidded all the way across the hall floor whilst looking like a comic cat trying to run and ended in a heap by the front door _ he just got straight up and sauntered off up the stairs whilst looking at me like it was my fault. I could go on and on. Beautiful Boy is coming back to us tonight and will never have to go anywhere again. I thought i was doing well until i spoke to the vet :(
