Hi there, my cat (12/13yo) has thrown up around 7 hairballs over the last couple of weeks, usually there's one every couple of months or so.
I wonder if the milder weather has meant she's shedding a thicker winter coat earlier than usual and with grooming it's causing more of a problem than usual (plus in the spring when it usually happens she's out more so we probably don't see them). So I've been brushing her but a lot more hair than usual is being shed (everywhere!). She's a moggy, so not especially hairy!
Plus I've just noticed a little bald-y spot on her head (not from a spot-on treatment or injection - we've had those before!).
A number of years ago she had a bald tummy through over-grooming - this was diagnosed by the vet as stress related (we had a number of stress-related issues when we rehomed her, but this was YEARS ago). However she's not over-grooming now and there's no concentration of balding (aside from this spot on her head, which is about 1cm across).
Any thoughts? We've been in and out of the vets over various things across the last 6 months, so I'm keen to avoid another trip if there's likely to be a simple solution or nothing to worry about!
Many thanks!
