The litter tray

The kitten keeps climbing up the backs of my legs.

It bloody well hurts! He only does it when I am at the sink washing up and I can't work out if he is playing or is using me as means for getting up on to the worktop. Every time he does it I remove him and tell him NO very sternly but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Are you able to teach kittens/cats right from wrong or is that wishful thinking on my part?

You can't really train them. Don't worry just when you think it will never get better it's time for neutering and 3 weeks later you have a soppy little sod on your hands.

Male kittens are feisty. Ours spent night after night being shouted at to stop biting mommy by dh.

Oh, he is a soppy sod too. He follows me everywhere and likes lots of cuddles. But he deffo has a bit of the devil in him. If he is doing something especially naughty that I have repeatedly had to tell him off for, you can see his ears go back flat on his head and it's like he decides that it's his mission to really piss me off!

I suggest you cover your legs in Vaseline

That'll teach him

Envy. I wish I had a kitten to climb up my legs. Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/01/2012 19:51

Ears back means more serious play. Don't worry one day he'll be able to jump up there on his own.

Enjoy your kitten !!

Thicker trousers? Shinpads worn backwards? At least it's not summer and there's little chance you'll be wearing cropped jeans - I learned the hard way crops and kittens don't mix.

It also tends to be when I am wearing pyjamas that he likes doing it, the little monkey.

Aww, he is very cute though. I'd forgotten that little chirrupy noise they make when they're excited and want to play. His fave plaything at the moment is a pair of DS's socks that he carries around like it's a dead thing he's caught. He does backwards somersaults and all sorts when he's playing with those!
