Stuff like Frontline Combo, available prescription only but also sold online. So.... how does that work? What's the procedure for a private buyer?

You have to get a prescription from your vet, which they are entitled to charge for. Therefore I haven't bothered

lljkk · 07/01/2012 17:17

But then... do you send the prescription piece of paper off to the online seller & then they can send the meds back? Is there an online register everyone uses and works like a voucher, is it an ongoing prescription once you get one you have it forever, or do you need a new one every 3 months? I am clueless.

I dunno how long it lasts, I looked into buying y cats stuff, which is flea and worker stuff and gave up with all the prescription stuff

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2012 22:35

You can get Frontline at Boots. Can you just buy it? Confused

crazynanna · 07/01/2012 22:36

I know Advocate is prescription only...but I have seen it for sale on Amazon

QOD · 08/01/2012 09:21

I see some there crazy nana but tis the same as the vet price anyway. I have seen in online cheaper, but as I say, prescription needed. Darn it!

QOD · 08/01/2012 09:22

My prev post where I said worker I obviously meant wormer! Stupid self "correcting" iPad !

crazynanna · 08/01/2012 11:19

I saw a site some time ago where you can upload a prescription to get the meds....I see it on her on a thread in the Litter tray...but then I think you still need to pay for the prescription.

lljkk · 08/01/2012 12:24

I think regular Frontline is easy to get, but Frontline combo you need a script for. I will need to sit down & make a list of all the flea treatment/control options, how they work, costs, attainability, etc!

I've seen a site requesting some kind of ref number that's on the presciption, if you have that they will send it

lljkk · 08/01/2012 12:40

okay, that's what I didn't know, some kind of reference number that gets used the once and once only. (I guess?)

Yes I think so, never actually done it myself but seen it when I accidentaly clicked on stronghold once when I wanted normal frontline

lubeybooby · 08/01/2012 12:44

Oh and even for frontline I had to register with my cats details, weight, age etc to make sure it was suitable
