Our Cat is missing :-(

Last year, a few days before Christmas, our lovely one year old cat was hit and killed by a car, we were all distraught. Christmas Eve my DH arrived home with the most adorable kitten who it turned out had not been properly weaned and we stayed up round the clock encouraging her to feed/drink, it worked and she grew into a gorgeous cat, she is just 14months old.

She's been missing since yesterday morning, she NEVER stays out, there's no sign of her, I feel sick. The bin men came yesterday afternoon and took away all the Christmas recycling waste, I called them to see if perhaps she was in box or something and got chucked in, they said they thought not but if she has she wouldn't look like a cat any more anyway.

Please give me some positive outcomes to similar stories..

She's very timid and also very unusual colour so now I'm worried she has been stolen or hit by a car.

I've printed up leaflets and will take them round tomorrow (was at work all day), have checked with immediate neighbours/the garage/shed etc..

OMG - we have just collected our beautiful girl who was found last night and the lovely people called Cats Protection who have just reunited us. She is safe and well, has lost a little weight but looks fine apart from that. She had gone about 2 miles up the road. Am taking her to the vets for a check up when they open but am just so so happy to have her home, thank you all for you support and suggestions.

I love a happy ending. Wonder what she was up to?

RoyalWelsh · 08/01/2012 15:56

I'm Grin you found her OP! Mine went missing a little while ago and shame came back safe and sound - I was so worried about her, but then decided to see it as if she felt so secure at home that she was pushing the exploring boundaries and broadenig her horizons. She will lovethe fussing and attention she will get now Grin

Thanks everyone, she is not usually a cuddly cat but she is all over me like a rash at the moment!

Am hoping to see a happy ending for Maisie55 too.

Lisa, that is such amazing news!! I'm so happy for you. It has given me a bit of hope, sadly we still haven't heard any news about our lovely cat. I have called all the local vets, animal shelters, the council, leafleted the neighbours and put posters up, he is microchippd as well. I will look into mymoggy - hadnt heard of that one. I cant believe she went so far, it makes we wonder how we'll ever find ours, I've focused on the local area in my search. Also found out there are two fox dens in one of the neighbouring gardens which probably doesnt bode well. We have another cat (they are brothers) and he is moping about the place as well, typically the two cats look very similar which is no doubt confusing for the neighbours as they think they've found the lost one. Did you find out much about what your cat had been up to? where she was found? was she microchipped or had a collar? I havent called cats protection so will try that, will look at Gumtree as well.

Please all keep everything crossed for us!

Hi Maisie, thanks and please do keep strong for your cat too, I really hope he is home safe and sound soon.

We have no idea where ours has been. The guy that we collected her from said he popped outside last night to put some rubbish out and she ran across the road from some wooded area to him and loitered, she looked nervous so he scouted around to see if anyone was around and then let her in and fed her, he then called Cats protection this morning, they went and scanned her then called me.

So there are still 9 days unaccounted for, no idea where she was in between, just very very grateful to have her home.

Will keep everything crossed for you Maisie, good luck with finding your boy.
