Cat2 has taken a fancy to Stilton cheese and wolfs down any leftovers on my plate. Anyone else's cat do this?

The neighbour's fat bastard cat likes cheese.

chipmunksex · 26/12/2011 20:13

My cat loves cheese, but I've never gven her any stilton as we never eat it.

Purplelooby · 27/12/2011 10:32

Stilton is just one on a list of many things that my fat mog will eat. This also includes the plastic tags off bread wrapping and pistachio nut shells...

Catsmamma · 27/12/2011 10:38

one of mine would eat a babybel....wax and all. That's providing there is not an open tin of beans or chick pea for his delectation.

stupid stupid cat.

Piggles · 28/12/2011 10:34

My daft cat won't eat anything unless it comes in a bag or can marked Friskies.

My evil smartypants cat likes human food enormously - cheese of any variety being a particular favourite.

Butter, ham, salmon, eggs, tuna mayo, sausages, cream, pork chops and assorted other delicacies are also favoured. Evil cat thinks such things are much nicer when liberated from an unsuspecting human though and often openly scorns scraps which are freely given... unless it is something just too delicious to pass up and greed overtakes her Xmas Grin

My cat likes all the usual cat delicacies such as cheese but he also has a passion for peas, sweetcorn, spaghetti and cous cous. :)

winemakesmeclever · 31/12/2011 14:22

Ohhhh yes. Stilton, peas, crisps, pasta, broccoli - you name it, down it goes (please don't tell the vet... Grin

When ours was a kitten he would just walk on your plate and take it off your fork.

Lueji · 01/01/2012 23:25

Any cheese will do. :)
Custard too.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 04/01/2012 03:31

Anyone else with a cat who likes mushrooms cooked in butter, or sweetcorn? I did a taste-test on one of mine years ago, and he preferred those to raw minced beef.

Mind you, I don't suppose cattle are natural prey for domestic felines. Grin

My Abyssinian cat hooked a pork chop out from under the grill.

Piggles · 07/01/2012 02:03

NorkyPies - I have a pork chop thief too! (Only my thieving varmint is a Siamese/Russian blue X-breed) I'd only just put the chops under so I guess they hadn't got too hot yet and next thing I knew there was only one chop under the grill Confused I thought I was going mad until I spotted evil cat under the table having dinner - the little toad.

If she is in the house and there is food she can get at then you just can't take your eyes off it. She even opens cupboards, removes pan lids and un-foils covered dishes - the only truly safe places for food in this house are in the oven or fridge.

She also steals sausages off the bbq in summer if she gets the chance.

Her sister is daft though - you could leave a whole roast chicken on the floor next to her and she'd probably just look a bit confused and then wander away.
