The kitten just ate a spider

He batted it about a bit then swallowed it.
I have high hopes of him against the mouse and rat population when he is older but I hadn't anticipated this particular talent.
Perhaps I could hire him out to arachnophobes.

Spiders are about the only prey my Fat Cat hunts. Them and the daddy long legs who exhaust themselves battling against the lightbulb and fall to the floor, where he eats them.

He may be the world's laziest predator.

OldLadyKnowsSantaClaus · 05/12/2011 17:42

He's never had the squits, btw.

ShowOfHands · 05/12/2011 17:44

I've never had a cat who didn't eat spiders. They like to crunch them.

I've never had a cat with diarrhoea either.

DeeOfTheNorth · 05/12/2011 17:46

Can I put my down name for hiring your kitten? If possible I'd like to book him for Sept/Oct next year (aka spider season).

Thanks in advance Xmas Grin

Mine have taken to eating slugs, which is great. Until they puke them up on the floor that is...

Popbiscuit · 05/12/2011 17:57

I thought this was going to be a PFK thread...disappointing, OP.

SecretSantaSquirrels · 05/12/2011 18:03

He is my PFK really.
Just to illustrate that, I'm more worried about KittenSquirrel at DSs forthcoming 16th birthday party than I am about the prospect of 15 marauding teenagers coming for a sleepover.

And squitty is his middle name.

Did the spider swallow a fly?

Why oh why did it swallow a fly?

Xmas Wink
tabulahrasa · 05/12/2011 18:22

Mine kindly throws them back up about 20 minutes after she eats them Hmm

crazycrackernanna · 05/12/2011 18:24

My one eats fluff Xmas Confused

usualsuspect · 05/12/2011 18:24

Mine turns his nose up at his previous favourite food ,but loves eating creepy crawlies

musicposy · 06/12/2011 23:02

Ours started on spiders and flies as a kitten and gradually graduated to bigger items.

He now catches rats and lines them up under the dining room table. Grin

Beamur · 06/12/2011 23:06

My (now deceased) cat loved bugs, she hunted butterflies, moths, ate spiders and even the occasional worm.

ColonelBrandon · 06/12/2011 23:09

I like it when kittens prance 4 feet in the air around the spider, gradually picking up courage to get nearer the mighty beast.

Dc3 brings me spiders pinched between his fingers to resuscitate.

SecretSantaSquirrels · 07/12/2011 19:02

He doesn't need a spider to prance 4 feet in the air. It's like a sideways skip.

Mine eats spiders and flies and loves doing bambi bounces on the lawn at dusk but is no good at catching anything else, no squits either.

SecretSantaSquirrels · 09/12/2011 16:49

Caught him eating a dead fly today.
Must hoover the edges Grin
