Stop sleeping in the cot?

Made up our cot the other night to see what it all looked like, in advance of LO arriving in the next month (I will be washing sheets/remaking, but was excited!)

My boy cat has been sneaking in and curling up at the bottom of it since we put the blanket on, and Im going in every time and shooing him out. Part of me wants to shut the door, and prevent him getting in at all, but then Im worried incase I ever leave the door adjar and he thinks its ok to lie on it.

Is it possible, with persistance, for him to catch on that it is not a permitted bed? Fwiw, he has free reign over sleeping anywhere else, so it's not like he's neglected. My girl cat has shown no interest in the cot whatsoever, think boy cat is just slovenly, and loves to lie in comfort.

Prob not. But once a screaming baby is in there will he really want to share bed space?

Hopefully not! Though I have discovered he hates the big feather duster, so I've took to lunging at him with that every time he's in there!
