My cat is clicking as he walks!

Confused

It's his left front leg, it's definitely a sort of clicky sound... it's on carpet so it's not his claws on the tiles. It's the same sort of noise my joints make (I'm hypermobile and very very clicky).

He is perfectly happy and not in pain, what on earth is going on? Confused

It couldn't be a sound he's making with his mouth is it? Mmmm. If it is his leg isn't clicky supposed to be arthritic? How old is he?

He is arthritic but only in his lower back/ back legs. He's 16 but in pretty good health. This is the first problem I've seen with his front legs - they aren't stiff at all and he's in absolutely no pain. It is very odd!

His back legs dont' click btw.
