The litter tray

leaving kitten alone

I have a 4 month old kitten and just wondering how long people leave their cats/kittens alone for? would you leave them overnight?

When i go out she gets put in the hall which is quite long and has her bed and food, litter tray and some toys to play with. I suppose if I was going out for a long period of time I could leave her in the living room and turn off all electrical items.

Just trying to figure out if i'm being over protective with the kitten as others seem to think I am:)

We left our cat overnight to get married. If we knew he was ok in a Cattery we would have found one but I didn't know about FAB approved catteries then and the ones we saw were rubbish.

He sulked.

We switch off all the electrics when out. How bad would you feel if something caught fire and the cat died?

the most shes spent alone is 9 hours but whenever I do come back shes always fast asleep in her bed and always well behaved (for a kitten anyway:))
I have the opportunity to get away for a night tonight so that is why I am asking. I would be back tomorrow morning so maybe would be 15 hours alone in total

I think I'll turn of all the electrics and leave her with the living room and hall to run about in and leave plenty of food and water and if later I feel ok about leaving her then I will but no doubt I'll come back late tonight lol
