Cat weeing in house

We've had our 8 year old Bengal since Feb this year and he has always weed outside, but twice this week he has weed in the house in different areas but weirdly on a red mat each time, one bathroom and one doormat.
He is definitely weeing and not spraying as I caught him sitting down for today's episode, I didn't react to the weeing as didn't want to stress him out and perhaps cause further problems.
Is is a possibility that the fireworks are freaking him out as both times have been in the evening, although he is still poohing outside or should I be taking him to the vets?
Any advise gratefully received. Thanks awfully if you've read this far.

It could be the fireworks although sometimes something like a urine infection can cause inappropriate weeing.

Vicky Halls (cat behaviourist and author of cat books) has a good website, link here. I have a couple of her books and always find the tips good
