Am I being insane?

We already have 1 cat (1 year old) and 2 DC (3 and 8 months) and i'm considering getting another kitty. Our Cat now is amazing. Fantastic with both children and very laid back (he's an outside cat most of the time, comes in for cuddles with us and the kids) I think my problem was my lovely cat is so easy i'm under the impression that it would be a walk in the park with another cat. it doesn't help when i read all your cat stories.

TBH if i didn't have dc and my dh i would be utterly content being a crazy cat lady. Hmph, i am being insane am i not

Why not? Double the joy, I say. And very good for the children.

If you get an adult rescue cat, a good rescue would be able to match you up with a kitty whose personality would suit your family (human and cat) eg one who would cope with small children, family life and another cat.

How does DCat 1 get along with other cats?

I would love more cats (have two) but husband says no. (I know he is right but :( nonetheless)

I have seen him fight with one other cat, I know this sounds strange but the other cat is MEAN. Big, bulky, scraggly, one eye and an attitude to boot, and he attacked my kitty while he was sitting outside our kitchen window. But barring that, i don't think he has any problems with other cats (bar brute) and our street is hoaching with them.

Two cats is good because they keep each other company. And most cats are easy to look after. An existing cat doesn't always get on with a new addition, but taking the introductions slowly can really help. As Hellonheels says, a cat rescue will help suggest a cat that is likely to fit into your family and be friendly with the cat you already have. Kittens are available at rescues too, if you prefer a kitten. Since your cat is still young, a kitten or another young cat is probably a good idea.
