Cats with (yuk) worms. How do I rid them for good.

Ok I have two cats, we live in the country and they eat birds and mice etc, everyday or more often. I used to give them worming tablets every two/three months. But moved to a spot on which is more effective and I use it every 6 weeks on the recommendation of the vet.

But still they have worms, really not sure what to do and we have kids so is this a threat to them, could my kids get worms? So any suggestions for a better worming method. Thanks everyone.

Which worms do they have?

Vomited up bits of string - roundworms
Bits of rice round the anus - tapeworm

Then the next question is which spot-on are you using?

Drontal - only kills tape worms
Advocate - only kills roundworms
Profender - kills round and tapeworms.

Yes there is a very small potential risk from roundworms to children. If you are using profender I would suggest that you clip a small bit of hair on the back of your cats neck to make sure that it is going directly on the cats skin.

EEk, I wonder if my boys have worms. They eat like crazy but I was putting that down to them growing.
I do have sme stuff for the back of their neck, the vet sold it to me last week and advised putting it on at night.
