I've had Kitty Collars recommended to me by a cat-mad friend. My own cat will have none of it, so I'm glad she is chipped.

We've had the reflective ones from the Kitty Collars site - the sold colour ones, not the ones with reflective kitties, my cats are mostly black and I wanted serious reflectiveness. When say 'had' ... one cat lost two within ten days, while the other took about a year to lose both his collars. I then bought them two new ones each, this time it took the first cat about three weeks to lose both, while his brother has lost one, but we got it back again. The second batch were like these, so cheaper than the Kitty Collars ones. I had to twist the bells off all the collars as the cats went completely berserk over the jingling.

Both cats are chipped, collars are a nice-to-have, so we've given up bothering with the first cat, but the second continues to wear one. The good thing about them getting lost is that the quick release obviously works - fairly sure first cat would have had a nasty accident by now in a buckle collar.
