My kitten is stuck up a tree!!

My 3 month old kitten is stuck up a pine tree. I have tried coaxing him down to no avail. Neighbour has tried climbing the tree but he just went up even further! I'm not sure how distressed he is as he can't really meow properley/very much. I have left some food at the bottom of the tree.

Anything else I can do? How long til it's serious? I think he's been up there about an hour already Sad

Apparently fire service don't come out for cats anymore!

Be patient! Young cats are terrors for doing this! We had a young cat stuck up a tree outside our house recently. Lots of us tried to persuade it down. It came down of its own accord when it got hungry about 7 hours later! Oh, and when we'd all given up and gone indoors.

Shock 7 HOURS!!! I feel really unsettled, can't get on with my work knowing that he might be really distressed up there. Only thing is, I heard that sometimes when they get too hungry/weak/scared, they lose their wit a bit and end up falling out of the tree. Glad your cat was ok!

Ours once went up a really tall tree, got bored eventually and then came back down of her own accord - she wasn't up there for quite an hour but it was long enough for me to get worried..
Can you try rattling a box of treats of waving some fish around?
Hopefully as it's a pin tree even if she does fall she'll be able to hold onto a lower branch half way down?

I have been rattling food and faveourite toys about like a loon, but have just backed off now. You know what it's like with cats, sometimes if you try too hard it puts them off! Yes that's reassuring stinky, didn't think of that, if she does fall then there are about 100 branches breaking her fall! Smile

I have just called the RSPCA who are going to call me back. Now off to pick up DS who is going to be horrified with this bit of news Sad

Well he is still not down, RSPCA haven't called back. I am now considering climbing that damn tree.

He came down! Meowing all the way, and neighbour helped him down on the last bit (I offered him a tube of Salvon for his troubles and the scratches, ahem!)
