My lovely old cat is poorly. She's had kidney problems for some time and has been taking a food supplement. She's been drinking loads, and over the last couple of days has been trying too wee everywhere, but all that is coming out are spots of wee with blood in them. Took her to the vet this morning who said she was very dehydrated and probably experiencing kidney failure... so given the fact that she has reached the grand old age of 22, we have decided to put her down. I am taking her tomorrow morning, and have brought her home so we can all say goodbye.
She has been with us longer than the children! She has used up many of her 9 lives - she disappeared from home once, and has managed to get herself stuck in a car engine and travelled about 2 miles! I shall miss her so much, but she has slowed down so much, and must be in some distress from the weeing problems, I am pretty sure I am doing the best for her
. Please reassure me that I am, fellow cat-loving mumsnetters.
