There has been a spate of cats becoming sick in Lordswood/Walderslade area in the last few days with what looks like anti-freeze poisoning. Symptoms will be initially strange behaviour, wobbly, falling over - basically behaving like they are drunk. They may vomit, and may have excessive thirst and urination. With time this can change to lethargy, rapid breathing/heart rate and deterioration leading to death.

If you have ANY suspicion your cat may be affected please contact your vet ASAP. Meanwhile cat owners in these areas would be very well advised to keep their cats indoors at all times for the moment. If you have any clues as to who may be doing this or see/hear anything suspicious please report it to the police immediately.

I saw this in the local paper. We are a bit further away from that area but it is really awful to think that someone might be doing this deliberately Sad

Bastards. How can anyone kill a cat I will never understand.

TheOriginalFAB · 29/04/2011 13:51

There was something in the paper about 8 cats who had been killed but not in this area. I live in Blue Bell Hill and my cat is already ill.

It seems to be going on all over the place. It's happening in our town too near my mum Sad.

Oh no. We're in Chatham and luckily ours don't go outside our garden (yet!)
