Dont really know what to do next...:(
Shes nearly 2 and is usually very clever will wander but always come back, shes been gone since 6am Thursday morning and im so upset shes been gone before for about 24 hrs but now im really worried.
We've been out looking, shouting about 6 times and still nothing, shes been chipped and has a id tag on so Im just hoping shes wandered off somewhere and turn up.

Has anyone else been in the same situation and have a nice outcome, going to go and ask neighbours today. :(

It is still early days, she could still saunter back.

Just in case though, are there any houses being built near by? My sisters cat went missing for a couple of days and she found her stuck in one loft.

msrisotto · 02/04/2011 09:34

Ask the neighbours to check their sheds too

pookiecat · 02/04/2011 09:35

How awful- can you put up posters ? Also ask people to look in garages, sheds etc Good luck x

wheresmywaist · 02/04/2011 09:47

www.mymoggy.com/ The lady that runs this has had 82 cats homesafe this quarter - one that was missing since 2009!!

If your cat had been runover she would have been scanned at the vet and you would know so hopefully she's just off on a jolly xxx

MrsStudMuffin · 02/04/2011 09:49

Oh dear Sad. I would put a note through all your neighbours houses and the next few streets asking them to check garages, sheds, etc and describe what colour your cat is. I hope she is home soon.

Hassled · 02/04/2011 09:49

It's well worth doing the whole posters on lamp-posts thing - she's probably shut in a garage or shed or something. Don't panic yet. Hope she shows up soon.

follyfoot · 02/04/2011 09:58

Poor you. We've had this, and whilst I dont want to raise any false hope, it is the time of year when cats wander. Ours turned into a serial wanderer so here's how we got him back safely each time:

Put notes through the door of every house nearby and further away, asking people if they have seen her and to check their sheds and garages (our boy was shut in a shed for 5 days on one occasion and had moved in with someone else on another). She may have gone further than you think so put your flyers far and wide

Put posters up with her picture on

Ring all the local vets and ask if they have any injured cats - put notices up in their waiting rooms too

Check all the local rescues

Talk to people you see who are around during the day - dog walkers, older people, mums

Local radio would probably give her a mention too

If you feel up to it,you could ring the local council who deal with animals where the worst has happened (I could never do this) just in case

Lots of luck, as I said, we have had happy endings in the past Smile

The3Bears · 02/04/2011 16:42

Well i've been out looking and asking nearby all day still nothing :(
I've made some posters so going to put them out soon dp is just finishing them just really hope we find her soon, it doesnt help that ds keeps asking where she is and im an emotional wreck :(

I was really hoping she would be home by now. Don't lose hope Sad.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/04/2011 16:46

Don't worry, 2 other cats on here went missing and they both turned up. Don't stop going out and looking for her.

The3Bears · 02/04/2011 16:59

I won't were going back out in a minute, I just cant believe she's gone missing you can't help but think the worse can you.
Just keep hoping she'll appear on the doorstep in the morning :(

Any news yet?

The3Bears · 03/04/2011 09:50

Nope nothing, going to post some notes through neighbours doors today, Heard a cat meowing on our front this morning thought it was her but it wasnt it was the tomcat we thought she might have been with i tried to follow it at 6am this morning as it was going round meowing but i lost it :(

Im really upset now really think she wont be coming back :(

OP posts:
follyfoot · 03/04/2011 18:50

The not knowing is really tough isnt it. Hope that the notes will bring you some news - our cat walked about 1/2 a mile to move in with someone else so try posting further afield if needs be.

Know just how you feel, everything crossed for you.

CarGirl · 03/04/2011 18:52

You need to knock on every door for half a mile around asking if you may check in their garages and sheds and outbuildings.

I really hope you find her.

The3Bears · 03/04/2011 19:28

Well I now know she's not coming back was knocking on doors and somebody saw her lying in a road :(
Im heartbroken, she was part of my family :(

Sad

Happend to our last cat, only our name saw him and told us where his body was.

It is heartbreaking, my empathies are with you x

The3Bears · 03/04/2011 19:40

Thank you.
Its just so sad, just remembering the funny things she did at least she had a good life with us :(

Pennies · 03/04/2011 19:50

So sorry. Mine's missing too. So worried and miss him loads.

wheresmywaist · 03/04/2011 20:38

:( that is awful - I wish people would take rta's to the nearest vet to be scanned, we (cat rescue people) always do then at least the owners can be notified and they can be returned. So sad for you xxx

follyfoot · 03/04/2011 22:44

So sorry to hear your sad news 3bears. I suppose the uncertainty has gone, but the sadness is huge isnt it. Although she didnt have a long life, she did have a lovely one and hopefully that will help you come to terms with what has happened in time x

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/04/2011 07:36

I'm so sorry to read that the poor little thing. At least she was loved and well looked after by you.

pookiecat · 04/04/2011 09:50

So sorry - must be so upsetting, their like our furry babies . x
