So where does your cat sleep.

My cat has her own basket by the radiator in the kitchen but can usually be found asleep

  • on the stairs
  • in front of the airing cupboard
  • on any bed that she shouldn't be

On the arm of the sofa, in the crash position.

Wait, will put photo up on profile. It's very funny!

FourFortyFour · 27/02/2011 19:34

Mine has a lovely cosy bed by the radiator which she sleeps in at night but throughout the day she sleeps on the landing, a kitchen chair, the sofa, an arm chair and she sometimes has a sit down in the hallway. Grin

ds's bed. Our bed. Top of the stairs. Oh, and anywhere that is In My Way or Just Where I Need To Put My Foot.

BertieBotts · 27/02/2011 19:40

Picture up now Grin

I made him a bed on top of the dishwasher using one of the radiator things. Bought it and it didn't fit on any radiator we had. Even now I've moved it doesn't fit. Gives him a toddler-safe haven anyway!

Grin at your stretched out cat Bertie. Your DS is gorgeous too.

Our cat liked to sleep on our bed under the duvet. Or on top of the television. In DD's doll's pram (tucked in under layers of blankets). Anywhere warm really.

FourFortyFour · 27/02/2011 19:59

That is one funny cat Grin. She looks Blush that you have seen her like that Grin.

IlsaLund · 27/02/2011 20:28

Bertie - your cat looks hilarious.

One of ours tries to sleep on the AGA, we must remove him about 10 times a day. He used to have the good grace to jump off when someone came into the kitchen, now he just flops over and looks offended when we life him off.

Another one likes to sleep in the greenhouse on top of new seedlings.

Grabaspoon · 27/02/2011 20:51

My cat if caught sleeping somewhere she isn't supposed to be - just opens 1 eye lazily and then goes back to sleep Grin

My mums cats decided to dispense with the middleman of radiator beds... they balance, very precariously on top of the towels drying on the radiator!

DooinMeCleanin · 28/02/2011 08:24

ontop of anything warm...pooter, microwave, oven Shock, radiator.

He also has lots of hiding places we are yet to find.

Grabaspoon · 28/02/2011 13:27

:) at the oven sleeping cats!

We have an old clothes maiden which we lovingly converted into 'bunk beds' for the boys. Occasionally, the deign to sleep on it. More often that not it's either on my side of the couch or the bottom of the bed.
Larger cat will sit on top of the freezer and 'swipe' at you when you walk past, grabbing a clawful of your top so you will pet him.
Smaller cat sleeps on windowsill if it's sunny.
Both like to lie at the top of the stairs.
If I'm home, they compete to sleep on me. I am under no illusions that they 'love' me - I'm just squishy, warm furniture to them Grin

We have only had our rehomed cat 2 weeks. Her favorite place to sleep is on one of the dining room chairs under the table. In the evening she often snoozes on the rug and sometimes on our bed during the day, which is where she is now.

JeelyPiece · 12/03/2011 00:34

Our three fight over who gets to sleep on the bath mat in the shower room... may be so popular because it's a wee room with a powerful radiator and bonus fluffy floor covering, cat heaven!

minieggfan · 12/03/2011 06:58

End of bed, sofa, armchair, clean washing awaiting ironing, roof of shed (hot weather only).

Bearcat · 13/03/2011 15:41

On kitchen table next to the radiator (we're always detoxing that table).
On our bed, on DS2's bed.
On sofa up against cushions ( I really don't think life would be worth living if he didn't have cushions to lean up against). He always has one paw strtched up the cushions with one claw hanging on to it!

DontCallMeBaby · 13/03/2011 20:03

On the futon in the conservatory, despite it always being covered with DD's toys.
On top of the hall radiator (Cat2 only).
On the conservatory windowsill (again, Cat2).
On our swimming gear which lives on top of the tumble drier (Cat1).
Very very rarely, on the cushions placed on a chest in the conservatory for the express purpose of having cats sleep on them.
On top of the duvet, curled into the small of my back (Cat1, when DH is away).
On a towel awaiting washing in the spare room.
On the pile of coats in the spare room (I cleared the hooks for PIL's visit about three weeks ago and haven't done anything more sensible with the coats).
On any item of human discarded clothing (Cat2).
On the bathmat (mad Cat2 again).

Never on the sofa, almost never on a lap, and never ever on the radiator bed we bought them (Cat1 used to hang out on it a lot, watching Harry Potter movies, but he's gone off it, and Cat2 won't use it).

Cat2 does however sleep in his basket, which is decidedly eccentric behaviour for a cat.

MillsAndDoom · 14/03/2011 19:14

Cat 1 - in a cupboard in utility room next to radiator - she decided this was her main bed so DH took the door off it and we emptied it out and put her blankets in there - during the day she sleeps on the back door mat in the sun and of an evening in front of the fire waitingfor someone to switch it on.

Cat 2 - on the naff radiator cover; whichever bed she chooses; bottom of DDs wardrobe; any pile of clean washing and often in the shower cubicle Hmm
