gave her proper food instead? Is there any reason why she has to have cat food?

She will only eat sheba she'd rather starve than have anything else! but they are 60p each and she gets through 4 or sometimes 5 a DAY!

I worked out I can feed her for half the price if I buy cans of value tuna and bags of frozen value chicken and fish.

But would this meet her nutritional needs?

Thanks. Smile

I got up this morning and wondered where she was! Hmm

Had a 'funny' moment at the shop. Was chatting to the bloke there, and he asked how I was and I said, "bit sad actually, had to have my cat put to sleep yesterday"
and he replied "Oh, sorry about that"
and I said "Thanks. Can I have 2 bottles of paracetamol please?"

and his face was a picture! Grin

I said "I'm not that sad! I just need paracetamol"

The look on his face made me laugh. Then I felt guilty for laughing because it was like I was laughing about my Blossy's death. Hmm

Of course you weren't laughing about that, just the look on his face. It will take a while to sink in.

I have been thinking about you a lot Blush and also watching my cat all the time.

So sorry to hear your news Hecate. x

Hecate - sorry to hear about Blossom :(

but Grin at paracetamol.

Lidl have Felix pouches on offer this week/next week (can never quite work out when their offers start).

So sorry about Blossom Hecate. Both my sisters have lost cats recently, so my moggies are suddenly finding themselves in the lap of luxury! (I didn't even know there was a cats topic on Mumsnet until today!)
When our cats arrived from the shelter 2 years ago we were told they ate "Whiskas" but soon discovered that that meant "whiskas oh-so-fishy pouches, but not the tuna ones". We accumulated 2 carrier bags of tuna pouches and many other random brands (donated back to said shelter - they must have seen us coming!) before we found that they will also eat Morrisons own brand pouches. We have to give it half a pouch at a time or they just lick off the jelly and walk away. They also love Morrisons seafood platter, which is 3 cans for £1 but not a complete cat food. If we're going away we get the neighbour to mix that in with the pouches so it all gets eaten - can't ask him to come round 6 times a day!

Mine wouldn't eat Whiskas tuna either! This was after DS2 gave her the dish with tuna in rather than the one with the juice in....

Monty27 · 06/03/2011 17:30

The cat food offer is this week. I went and got 5 tins of Felix for £2 (I bought 10 tins as you do), the pouches are on offer too but I can't remember how much they are.

Sorry, that was Lidl for those that haven't read whole thread :)
