if you wouldn't mind.

I've got all the stuff for him, CPL lady is bringing him to me (in about 1/2hr) so I don't need to take him on the bus (bit of a trek as she's not in town and lives in a village that isn't on a good bus route).

I've done all the reading on how to settle him in, and after all your fabulous help on the thread I started a few weeks ago and I was just going to go and put his litter tray and stuff in his secure room when it dawned on me.......

How much litter do I put in the tray????

I am very Grin about finally getting Jambo (we've renamed him as suggested) - it's felt like and age since I had the home visit - but had a minor panic about how deep the litter should be.

Congratulations Baroque! I have been lurking round here and your other thread with loads of questions on has been really useful. We are getting 2 rescue cats tomorrow Grin It's been a while since I had cats so I'm feeling a bit unsure but v.excited. My DCs have hardly slept all week!

glastocat · 21/01/2011 13:43

He's gorgeous, what a poseur! Grin You are going to have such fun with him!

glastocat · 21/01/2011 13:50

You do know black and white cats are the craziest best? (I have two) Grin

oooo how exciting LifeInTheSlowLane -

he is a huge poser, keep wandering in here, winding his way through the legs of the 3 talbes (it's a nest of tables - but they're all out next to each other right now), than walking back across the room stopping the flicking his head back and them striding out again .

He's currently decided that his bed that the fosterer brought (that he's been sleeping in for ages at hers and before they got him) isn't as good as the dusty (as I have hoovered up there for ermm not sure how long) rug on the landing upstairs.

Has decided that my ironing pile isn't a good place to explore (it's currently piled nearly as tall as DS1 up the wall) having tried it and had it collapse under him.

And he already feels like he's been here forever Grin

Only an hour until I pick the other DS's up - they'll be so excited when they get here

Your cat is gorgeous and so are your kids! Jambo looks like a butterfly has landed on his head. Grin He looks full of devilment and cuddles too. Now when are you getting another one? Grin

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 25/01/2011 21:25

hehe - someone on my FB commented on that - it does look just like a black butterfly Grin

Not getting another, apparently he likes to be boss, and doesn't like other cats......

One is quite enough for now.

He's settled in well (sat on the sofa opposite me just now). Though still not eating/drinking an awful lot (actually I haven't seen him drink anything at all yet - but he's been wee-ing in his litter tray so I'm guessing he's getting fluids from somewhere Hmm).

He is lovely though, comes and sleeps at the end of my bed (he's actually got me sleeping in bed again Shock) and purrs like a car engine left running outside Grin).

Still adores DS2 and likes playing at 3am in the morning.

Oh and we had GREAT fun on Sunday night changing my bed sheets. He was pouncing all over the bed trying to catch the sheet and duvet Grin.

Don't worry about the drinking thing, I never see my two drinking anything. So long as he gets some wet food he'll be fine. I know what you mean about the car engine, did you ever see the Eddie Izzard sketch about his cats drilling for oil behind the sofa? If not, check it out, tis v. funny.

My kitten not only sleeps on the bed, but if the electric blanket is on gets under the covers half way down the bed until he gets too warm or is evicted! If he had opposable thumbs I reckon the blanket would be switched on permanently, in fact my husband is convinced our two are plotting to manage the switch on the electric blanket between them! Grin

You're probably better off with one, mine like having races up and down the stairs at 3AM. Hmm

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 26/01/2011 00:26

really - oh that's a relief that you've never seen yours drinking. The water bowls (got 2 just to give him a choice) don't seem to have gone down much between me refreshing them. But he goes upstairs to the bathroom - and hangs around the sink too (daft thing nearly fell in tonight) which is never full of water, but often has water that hasn't dried in it.

Yes - someone linked to the Eddie Izzard thing the other night for me Grin.

Oh - he races up and down the stairs. Thanks DS2 Hmm - who was playing with balls of screwed up paper with him at the weekend - chucking them down the stairs and he was legging it down after them. So he brings his toys/stuff upstairs - whacks it down downstairs and races after it.

Which is lovely........he's a big heavy cat, and I have bare wooden stairs............ Grin
