Firstly, i apologise for the length of this post.
I have 2 neutered 5 month old male kittens who i've had since they were 12 weeks. I also have 2 older female cats. The kittens keep weeing and pooing in the house and outside the back door. I don't have a litter tray anymore as they have free access to the garden. They have been given a clean bill of health by the vet.
I have tried cleaning up the mess with everything from vinegar, bicarb & hydrogen peroxide; simple solution enzyme cleaner; surgical spirit; biological washing detergent. I have covered the areas with tin foil; olbas oil; put their food near it all without much luck. I have tried feliway spray and the plug in.
The kittens are now restricted to 2 rooms with access to the garden as i can't have them weeing on the beds and sofas.
The vets thinks i need to give i t a month after being neutered for things to stop (it's been about 3 weeks) but things seem to be gettng worse and now they are raising their tails and shakng them as if they are going to spray but as of yet they're not.
Someone said to me that having 4 cats in the house is too many and they are marking their territory.
I don't know what to do. We love the kittens but it's not much fun for them being left on their own all the time and to be honest we might as well not have them as we never spend time with them anymore. I don't want it to be like this but my carpets stink and i can't bear it anymore.
I'm really hoping someone will tell me things will improve or give me a miracle cure or do you think it would be better for the kittens to be rehomed somewhere where they can be enjoyed and loved? If things can't improve, i'd rather try and rehme them whilst they are kittens and more desirable as i really don't want them to spend the rest of their days in a shelter.
