Urgent advice re my kitten

My 5 month old kitten, has just come up to me meowing away, he seems to have hurt the right hand side on his side by his hip. If I stroke him he cries out, he's taken him off to lie on the couch, (he jumped up 3 legged on to the couch), he's curled into a ball and seems to be breathing heavily.

He has been fine, for the last hour or so, he's been asleep on my bed.

Does anyone know if he's just got cramp, or do I need to get him to a vet asap?

He needs to go to the vet asap. Does he go outside yet?

Yes, but only accompanied, and he's not been out since 10 minutes at 8am this morning.

I would still take him to a vet. Maybe wait until tomorrow morning if he seems ok at the moment, but get him checked over. Hope he's ok.

Thank you - my dh is due home in about 10 minutes, I will get his opinion, and if necessary take him to out of hours, otherwise I'll take him to normal vet when it opens in the morning at 8am.

The cat purred for dh, and although seems to have a sore point, we can't see anything, and whilst he's purring and not meowing, we'll leave it and get him to the vets in the morning.

More of a worry than children!!!
