Think my cat has an eating disorder.

She is on her 4th supper of the evening.

She is fed breakfast at 7ish and dinner at 5ish. she then proceeds to demand crunchies on the hour, every hour until bedtime.

sometimes she eats so much she then goes and pukes on a bed.

she is somewhat rotund because afer she got squashed and pinned 8 years ago she doesn't like to move much further than a gentle stroll to the end of the driveway twice a day.

I love her dearly but her incessant eating and wailing at me every time I stand up is bugging me.

Does she need therapy?

Cats are naturally greedy ...mine has a Pavlov response anytime anyone walks near his food cupboard and will demand food until you give in....the trick is not to give in!

SecretNutellaFix · 19/10/2010 22:36

sounds like my fatass glutton.

He would be content to lie down and be hand fed if he ever had the opportunity.

He gets fed once a day. Tough if he troughs it all in one session.

DoraBelvedon · 19/10/2010 22:37

if i didn't give in she would eat either her own or my feet. she is ravenous.

Sounds like a learned response to me. My parents' cats are exactly the same, mainly because my dad is a human marshmallow and practically the cat's slave. My cats, in contrast, never ever ask for food because they know exactly when they get fed and have never learned the whole yowling=food thing.

Maryz, one of my cats tried the whole "Oh today I'm not liking x, but tomorrow I'll not want y" thing and we ignored it. Knocked it out of him soon enough!
