How old is your cat?

We have a cat who is 21 - she's a bit wobbly and very thin, but otherwise seems reasonably O. Anyone else out there got a very aged cat?

Oh bless her!

Ours is only 10 but I was very proud of him reaching his "double figures" - especially given his dodgy running between traffic skills.

She's gone through several lives - got lost for 3 weeks, travelled 2 miles stuck in a car engine once. She's moved house with us 4 times, and suffered both children tormenting her when they were little!

Bless indeed! I shall miss her when the inevitable happens!

My mums cat was 19 when she died. I thought that was a good age for a cat, 21 is bloody old!

sharbie · 04/10/2010 00:07

one of mine made it to about 17

Our oldest girl was 19 when she died. She was fit and healthy until she got bowel cancer and then she was ill for a couple of months before we had to have her put to sleep a couple of years back. God how I howled!

Our next youngest is now 18 and is on tablets for her kidneys and thyroid but is still going strong. She tried to fight me tonight for my pork chop lol. I gave in and shared it with her.

My hairdresser's cat was 23 when she died and that is the oldest moggie I've heard of. 21 is doing very well indeed!

Please can you tell me what you feed your aged cats because I would love my cat to reach such a good age.

my oldie ate anything and everything including the cat over the roads dinner after sneaking in through his catflap

We had to have my mum's cat put down in the summer. She was 20. So we have had her half my life... I howled too!! She was v.v.thin, deaf and was getting very confused and a bit distressed. The following week one of my cats went missing and we found her little body 3 days later... Still don't know what killed her but she did have a thyroid problem. Howled again!!
2 cats in 2 weeks....... When we get back from half term holiday it's off to the rescue shelter. Can't replace them but can give a good home to some more furry bodies! Grin

My two girls lived to 17 and 18 respectively, I've now got one boy left who is about 14 (a mere baby compared to some here!!) he was a stray cat that came to stay so can only be approximate about his age.
