Hi

I have two 16wk old kitties who don't get me wrong I adore Grin

But they follow me everywhere Hmm If I sit down for 1 second they both want to be on my lap, if I get up they follow me weaving through my legs and tripping me over

They don't do this to anyone else just me, although there is only me and Ds (5) and DD (2).

If I have visitors one kitty has happy enough to sit on strangers knee but the other only wants me.

I feel like I have a new baby lol.

Thats because you do! lol

They're just babies looking for some comfort.
I've got a 7month old cat and she still does that. Only to me or DS though, never DH or visitors.

Don't get me wrong I don't really mind it, its quite sweet really. Apart from when they trip me over Grin

I just wondered if it was normal iyswim Smile

The family I got them from when they were 7wks did not look after them hugely well Hmm Sad

Yeah, from my very limited experience, its normal!

Some days our cat is such a pain in the arse, following me all over, jumping out from under the sofa as I walk past... she drives me totally up the wall, but then, she's just a baby. DS drove me mad as a baby too! lol

She's growing up quickly though, starting to sleep on our bed or on the stairs rather than right on top of me, makes me feel a bit redundant when she doesn't need me now!

I sympathise though, one is enough for me, can't imagine having two following me around!

My kittens have always done it. The slight snag is that my kittens are now 12 years old. Prepare yourself to be tripped up for a loooooooong time yet!

:o

Oh my goodness i feel exactly the same. I have temporarily moved back to my parents house and they have an 11 week old kitty.
He follows me EVERYWHERE, even jumped on my lap while I was doing my morning business!
He even tries to crawl down my arm so that he can try and reach my food when I hold it away from him. And of course I can't lock him out of the room because that would be cruel.
Now I must be sounding like a cat hating wench and I promise I normally adore kitties...but I have a 12 week old baby. And I caught him napping in her moses basket yesterday Angry

Try having a hand reared kitty - it doesn't stop! Ours is 1 now, and is just as bad as he was when he was a few months. He just lurrves people - anyone will do in general, although up around my neck when I'm trying to watch TV is the favourite spot - purring extra loudly so I can't hear as well!

My kitten follows me around everywhere. If I am sat down he is on me somewhere. Today I was washing up and ignoring his pleading meows so he thought he would just crawl up my jeans as opposed to being picked up - ouch!

He sleeps in my bed right in front of my face, which is sweet but annoying. But I've waited years for my lap cat, (after having 3 rescue/stray cats that are loving but not lap cats), and am loving it! I hope he doesn't change when he grows up.
