Does your cat do this?

Refuse to eat certain foods, missing a few meals, get you worried so you spend more time trying to remember what she does like than you do with the kids cereal, eat it, then decide - after you have bought loads of it - that she doesn't like that flavour/brand afterall?

Yep, I think that's on page one of the cat's bible, along with furballs on the sofa, and puking up on the new rug Grin

She doesn't do the furballs on the sofa and pukes in the utility room so maybe I will let the spoilt madam her off.

mine don't get a choice. they eat or starve.

Have 7 month old kitten who eats anything, but eats the expensive stuff faster Hmm

He can smell a tin of tuna being opened from 200 yards. I love him so, so much, have waited 20 years for a cat. He's brought us all together as a family. GrinGrin

Ha! Yes my cat does this - in fact I recently called the Felix manufacturers and asked if they had changed the recipe and had to send off some samples for them to test. Cat of course then wolfed the stuff down. Purina very kindly sent me some vouchers to buy some more.

Bloody sodding cat is just a bastard frankly. Has just presented me with a mouse too - that's what he thinks of his supper - he'd rather eat a mouse Hmm Angry

Sorry but LOL.

I worry about mine when she does it as she has medication to take with her meals and if she refuses her dinner then she doesn't get her pills. When I remember I give her a couple of chunks with the pill in and hopefully she is hungry enough to eat it, then I give her the rest. Some days she walks off without even tasting it though.

Iams.
Yes it comes in different flavours but cats will eat any.
Mine throw up on living room carpet and leave muddy pawprints in the bathroom.

I have 2 16wk old kitties who will only eat pets at home kitten pouches.

Imagine my panic when they were sold out last week Blush

Luckily customer service got some in from another branch

Oh, and of course they will eat home cooked food ie salmon/chicken etc but are so fussy I don't want to do this too often incase the buggers little darlings won't go back to the pouches

simpson · 20/09/2010 20:08

LOL at popeonarope.

Can just imagine mine doing the same Hmm Grin

LastOrdersAgain · 20/09/2010 20:12

I once asked the pet shop about why cats do this and apparently it's because the manufactures use what ever meat is available when they produce the food. So, it may not be the same in packet as it was with the last batch you bought. IYSWIM.

There was a term for it but I can't remember what it was.

My cat, however, is such a fatty, she'll eat anything!

popeonarope · 20/09/2010 21:18

The term is roadkill I think LastOrdersAgain Wink
