Vaccinating older cats

As well as a younger cat I have 2 14 year old cats. We've had them vaccinated every year since they were kittens.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to whether they will still need boosters, or does having so many confer immunity (like you are only supposed to need 5 tetanus jabs to confer life long immunity in humans) As they get older it seems kinder to minimise stress on them.

There is no proven life long immunity in cats but vaccination intervals are under ongoing review and testing. The current British Small Animal Veterinary Association statement on this can be found here The current product licences/guidelines for feline vaccines are for annual booster vaccines. Bear in mind a sick older animal will not fight these diseases as well as a sick younger animal. Beyond that it comes down to personal choice.
There will likely be people who come here and post that they didn't vaccinate their cat for years and it was fine - quite probably there are many, but please remember that is not a scientific basis for making your choice.

Thank you :) I suppose the other thing is if they have to go into a cattery for any reason - we have neighbours who help but you never know with life. I'd hate to have to restart a course.
Cats really do hate it though - might book them in separately this year so I can minimise stress. Once one starts howling, they are all at it.
