Garmin watch for walking

My husband has asked for a garmin watch. He enjoys walking along the coast and would like GPS to track his walks onto his phone. Any recommendations? I saw the Garmin Venu 2 - any good?

Is it suitable for a male sized wrist? He has an Apple phone - would it show maps of his walks?

I have the Venu 2 and it would be fine. You can map your walk using the Garmin Connect App or if he has Strava (even the free version) he can map his walk too. Both will give him loads of stats like pace per mile/km, elevation, cadence etc. I use it for running but can use it for loads of different sports including walking.
if he has an apple IPhone though he could just use Strava or the apple sport app (don’t know what is it called) and do it all through his phone?

Thank you - where might be the cheapest place to buy? Would rather a shop in case he wants to take it back!

I use the garmin 6s solar and love it. But if he's not bothered about the watch but just wants the ability to track his walks, it would be much cheaper (and possibly free) to use a mapping/route app on his phone. Komoot, mapy.cz, gaia, alltrails...are just a few of the many apps available
