Bird that sounded like a pig

Please someone must know!

I was out walking in Hampshire today and I heard a bird in a tree that sounded like a pig. It was a really deep snorting noise...

I couldn't see it and I didn't have my phone to record it.

Does anyone have any ideas please? X
