A question for map-readers

What do you call the thing that you roll along a map to work out how long a route is? Old style had a little wheel and a gauge to adjust for scale.

Opisometer?

We call ours the "whirly wheeler", but Silva call theirs a map measurer.

Map measurer... or, if you want a cheaper version, a piece of string!

Yes, just the string on your compass works well

But an opisometer is funkier 🤓
