Oxfordshire, upper Thames lock landing stage yesterday.

The nearest I can find is Annual Wall Rocket but this is shorter and the flowers don't have 4 conspicuous petals ... Confused

@MereDintOfPandiculation you are good at this stuff 🙏

TIA

Bog yellowcress?

Finzi · 23/09/2021 14:33

It looks a bit like a somewhat stunted oil seed rape plant to me!

Megistotherium · 23/09/2021 14:37

It does!
OwlBasket · 23/09/2021 15:03

Yes, I’d also say stunted oil seed rape too

fuzzwuss · 23/09/2021 15:10

is it field mustard?

TurnStone · 23/09/2021 15:26

Thanks for all the replies, if it's oilseed rape that would explain why my wild flower book doesn't list it ....

It might be common wintercress, barbarea vugaris - that's the closest I can get, but I can't help wondering whether it's a hybrid. There are so many in that family, it's hard to tell. It looks a bit like yellow rocket as well.

I've uploaded a screenshot to Plantnet which says 83% chance it's bog yellowcress as ohsheglows mentioned.

You do see oilseed rape dotted about in odd places though.

TurnStone · 23/09/2021 17:39

@ohsheglows , @Weeditandreap

Yes. It's Bog Yellowcress, rorippa palustris

Thank you Flowers
