Affordable wetsuit for pear shape!
oohlalabonbons · 23/08/2021 19:00
This might be a big ask, but I need a new wetsuit with the following criteria:
- affordable (under £150)
- suitable for size 14 bottom half and size 12 top half
- for fair-weather messing about in the sea and kayaking (only in the summer!)
My last two supermarket ones (BananaBoat et al) split on the crotch or leg seams due to my lardy arse and thighs 😳. Any recommendations?

I got a mens shorty as Im too big for available womens sizes.

Mountain warehouse? I forgo wetsuits and wear thick sports leggings and rash vest with a buoyancy aid it keeps you toasty. Also when I was looking for wetsuits some retailers (possibly decathlon) did neoprene bottoms and separate tops so you can mix and match sizes.

@HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime separate top and bottoms is a good shout...I'll search some of them out!

@starpatch I'm not sure this would work...my husband's wetsuit is bigger on top then bottom- I need the other way around!

Mine is from Decathlon (Tribord) and is size EU medium. I wear 8 on top and 10 on bottom - definitely a pear.

Check out two bare feet. I’ve not tried their adult wetsuits but I have been really impressed with the kids ones

Another vote for Two bare feet. Bought their shorty wetsuits for us and the kids this summer and they've been great. I'm an 8 on top and a 12/14 on bottom and the large is a pretty reasonable fit and kept me warm. They also do separates.

Ahh, my daughter has a Two Bare Feet wetsuit - will try them!

I'm the same size and have a Mountain Warehouse one. I love it, it's fab.

Aghhhh - Two Bare Feet and Mountain Warehouse both sold out in my size, apart from winter suits that are a bit pricey ☹️
Might wait until next season's stock comes in...
