Trousers for two day hike

I am planning a hike in the south of France in early May. The weather will probably be good, but showers not impossible.
There is a sale on in Mointain Warehouse with women’s trousers for £25. A lot of people seem to rate Cragghopers Kiwi which are about £50. Is it worth paying more?
Any advice from hikers gratefully received. As an aside, I am not an experienced hiker but walk a lot in town.

Best thing is to try them on. I much prefer my craghoppers to my MW pair. That said I prefer gym leggings over either!

Thank you educated, I will go to Cotswold outdoors and try on the craghoppers and maybe also a cheaper decathlon pair and compare.

I love my Craghoppers Kiwi Pro Stretch. They’re so comfortable, wash really well, last forever and dry so quickly. I’ve tried many brands before but always go back to them.

I have craghoppers kiwi stretch in full length and cropped. Can't fault them.

CrazyCatMamma · 15/04/2018 21:27

They are usually cheaper on amazon and I find they run fairly true to size.

Thanks that’s really good to know. I’m looking forward to trying some on! Getting excited about the hike, have purchased the correct map and am working out the route!

If you have a Go Outdoors, they’ll price match them if you can find them cheaper online. It’s ridiculously easy, just get the page up and show them at the till - they match it and take an extra 10% off.

EduCated · 15/04/2018 21:41

You can do the price match online too, though I’ve not tried that! It does have to be the same colour/size.

place is the cheapest I can find online.

EduCated · 15/04/2018 21:41

Sorry, this place

Decathlon zip offs. It may be cooler first thing or to prevent insect bites in the evenings.

BloodyWorried · 15/04/2018 22:47

Ooh thanks EduCated! Good shout :)

whataboutbob · 16/04/2018 12:25

Thanks for the tip educated. I’m off to google my nearest go outside!

Just coming back to say I got the cragghoppers they were great. I actually hiked a little in my v soft jeans and there was an annoying pinch point with my rucksack around my hips, which disappeared with the cragghoppers.
