Walks with kids...

Recently took my 6 year old on a couple of great walks on the North Downs Way. Was wondering if anyone has some recommendations on other walks they have done within an hour or two of London?

I have been pondering exactly the same thing and am surprised there’s a dearth of guidebooks on this very subject. I actually went to Stanford’s bookshop yesterday and they had plenty of volumes on walks IN London with kids, but none on walks in the surrounding countryside.
Anyway. We recently did a walk around Surrey hills, started at box hill train station, walked to Polesden Lacey then back. DH was map reading. About 12 km. my boys are 15 and 11. The youngest was complaining at the end!

Cheshunt train station to lea valley park farm is good it is signposted just 2 miles. Or you can just do a circuit round the lakes if you don't want to stump up for the farm.

Look at the Wild Guide for the South East by Daniel start for ideas for places to go.

If you're on Facebook there's a group called walking with kids, which might be helpful
