What are your best outdoorsy Christmas presents?

DH has done well but I've otherwise been given smellies or sweets by family, neither of which I'm into.

I'm thinking of saving up and treating myself. What have been your best outdoorsy presents that you've got this year?

A women's Osprey rucksack. It was a present last year but makes such a difference - the fit is so much better than borrowing my DH's. I also love the fact it has a built in whistle.

You've probably got some already, but I bought warm walking trousers a couple of years ago and when it's cold enough to need them, I really appreciate them. They're not heavy but have a thin fleece lining, and dry very quickly. I reckon good gloves in this weather would be brilliant, too - Sealskin, maybe? But I can't bring myself to pay that much!

has anyone bought any outdoor play equipment recently?

I'm looking in to barefoot shoes and binoculars at the moment.
Oh and proper socks, always in the market for good socks.
